309S (1.4833) is a stainless steel alloy known for its excellent corrosion and heat resistance. It belongs to the austenitic stainless steel grades and is particularly suitable for high-temperature applications. Up to 1000 degrees.

Composition
309S contains approximately 22-24% chromium and 12-15% nickel. The reduced carbon content compared to the standard 309 type, indicated by the 'S', makes it more resistant to carbide precipitation. This ensures that the material retains its corrosion resistance, even after prolonged exposure to high temperatures.

Corrosion and Oxidation Resistance
The high concentration of chromium and nickel provides excellent resistance to oxidation, especially at temperatures up to 1000°C. The material is also resistant to various corrosive environments.

Applications
Due to its robust properties, 309S is widely used in industrial sectors such as the chemical and petrochemical industry, in the construction of furnaces and heat exchangers, and in waste processing components. It is a reliable choice for components that must function under extreme heat and corrosion.

What is unique about this material is that it suffers almost no embrittlement.
